Filling
Dental fillings restore damaged teeth. After treatment of caries or pulpitis (cavities or tooth root inflammation), or as a result of mechanical damage, cavities form in the teeth. If these holes are not closed, the tooth will be damaged, break and cause discomfort and pain. To keep the patient’s tooth healthy, the dentist disinfects the damaged area and closes the hole with filling material. The tooth has been restored.
How is filling of teeth carried out?
The dentist examines the teeth and takes an X-ray. Then, under anesthesia, the damaged tissue is removed and the cavity is cleaned and disinfected before the hole is filled again. Finally, the filling is ground to be perfectly adapted to the patient’s dental position, so that it is possible to bite the teeth together.
